Count it all joy!

Yesterday, July 18th, was Jonathan's infant dedication at the church.  The pastor said words of encouragement and exhortation to us and the congregation, presented us with a New Testament with his name on the cover, and then walked with Jonathan in his arms around the sanctuary, introducing him to all the members of the congregation.  He told us afterwards, "That is one cute baby.  He got a lot of oohs & ahs as we went around."

He was happy during the service, and much to his parents relief, didn't fuss at all during the dedication.  We are so grateful for our church family and the many ways in which they love us! After the service, we headed out for lunch and then over to Centennial Park to see the ducks.  Jonathan loved the pond!

Developmentally, Jonathan is doing beautifully.  He will give you big sloppy kisses on the cheek, hold your face in his hands, and helpfully remove your glasses and earrings! He has almost figured out crawling and is eager to get moving.

He can sit with just a little bit of help balancing himself, grabs at anything in reach, and as many of you know, is now taking "solid" food.  He seems to be slightly fonder of the rice cereal, but only slightly!

Next week, we will head back to the pediatrician for his 6 month shots.  It's hard to believe he's almost 6 months old!
