Aside from visiting the pediatrician, he has made several other forays out into the world, running errands with Mom and Dad from the safety and comfort of his sling. He likes to ride in it with his face exposed, right elbow hanging over the edge, clutching his pacifier to his mouth with his right hand. He's the cutest joey I've ever seen! With the weather getting warmer, we've also been out in the stroller a few times this month - good for mom and baby!
He received some new toys this past weekend, which have been a huge hit. He loves his activity gym, and will push himself from tummy to side, then fall onto his back, looking very pleased with himself. He likes to bat at the toys, and once, we caught him trying to eat one! He also has a new mobile for the big crib, and he is spending naptime in there now. He seems to really enjoy watching it, and his little head swivels back and forth as he watches the toys go over.
We were fortunate that my grandmother was able to come and visit us last week - Jonathan loved all the time spent rocking in her arms, and he's eagerly looking forward to her next visit.
He is starting to develop a little bit of a routine these days, which is a big relief to his tired parents. He eats about 3 oz every 3 hrs during the day time, but at night, he has started going 5 hrs between feedings. He is a morning person, wide awake until just after noon, when he will occasionally take a real nap!
In other big news, the real smile has been making it's first appearance. It's fleeting, but has been sighted by both parents on occasion.
